Toshiko Oiyama
I consider drawing a thinking/seeing tool. My drawings are exploration of the
concept of transience. From the smallest particle to the entire universe, all is
changing all the time. I find inspirations for this concept in Australian
outback landscape as well as in the pre-modern Japanese visual arts and
literature. Interpreting them in the context of contemporary drawing, I draw.
Drawing takes me to the places where I cannot reach by words or logic aloneToshiko Oiyama 2006
