Celebrating the Portrait throughout last day of installation

People Make Places is an evolving series of mixed media portraits of diverse cities looking at the identity of a region through the eyes of her residents.  This incorporates inviting locals we encounter to consider their own sense of place by creating a small-scale work inside one of our matchboxes responding to the theme “My City”.

People Make Places: Melbourne commenced whilst conducting an Artist in Residence at Platform. Over April 2009 our Portrait evolved in Platform's Vitrine Space, located in Campbell Arcade, Degraves St exit, Flinders Station, Melbourne. We thank all Melbournians who have contributed to our portrait. Since then we have further developed the project across Australia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
