Quarterbred is an independent artist run initiative supporting innovation, experimentation and cross-pollination across art forms. Quarterbred is a three year old ARI supporting and presenting hybrid arts projects in various forms. Quarterbred is directed by seven emerging artists working across artforms. Quarterbred offers residencies and events at pact- a large warehouse theatre space in Erskineville, through an open application process. Quarterbred also curates diverse projects through Sydney and beyond. Additionally Quarterbred collective run the annual ‘Tiny Stadiums’ festival – artists cramming big experiences into intimate spaces.

BACKGROUND
Quarterbred arrived from the desperate need for space for Sydney based artists working at the edges of contemporary arts practice. We have a focus on process and collaboration to create new work that doesn’t fit into traditional gallery or theatre spaces. Our projects have ranged from cross-artform laboratories, screenings, symposiums, performance nights, interstate residencies and site-specific installations.
