Tortuga Studiosz/2doz1/
Tortuga Studios is located in an old brick factory at 31 Princes Highway, St Peters. It is a collaborative venture between 15 emerging and established artists, an eclectic warehouse space, forged with promise and talent and fuelled by artistic passion. Tortuga proudly supports artists, designers, sculptors, photographers, musicians and a host of film, TV and theatre artisans.
The Tortuga Studios Gallery is 85m2 of bright airy exhibition space and the Tortuga alleyway is inner city warehousing at its best. Perfectly positioned just at the end of King Street and opposite Sydney Park (where there is loads of parking), we can help with lights, sound, alcohol, food and online promotion.
We welcome everyone to the space, to interact and engage. If you have a project you would like to exhibit, or you need space, contact us to find out how we can help and how you can be a part of our collaborative crew.

BACKGROUND
Tortuga has been established by a number of people involved with Mekanarky Studios, located in the old Ice Cream Factory, Turrella; in December 2007 Mekanarky melted in the fierce glare of the developers’ sights. Pooling disconsolately into the gutters of the inner west we needed somewhere to go; Tortuga Studios was born, a new collaborative venture that seeks to provide affordable space to emergent artists and reinvent the collective artistic working space. We believe that even in the face of rampant development the inner city warehouse space has a place, providing space and opportunity for emergent and established artists to develop and grow, drawing their inspiration from the environment.
NB: Tortuga Studios is located one minute walk away from Mays Lane Project
