BACKGROUND
Founded in 2004 by Hamish Ta-mé and Keith Chidzey IN is an attempt to subvert the traditional gallery system and allow a place for discussion and creation of work that engages with installation, video, discoverable and temporary creative work. This discussion is often manifested in photocopy pasteups under bridges, pop-up galleries in unused shopfronts, data-throw-ups, planted small scale artpieces on public transport, and large scale exhibitions in trucks that are parked in public spaces outside the AGNSW, Australian Centre for Photography and Danks St Waterloo and more. We also manage an artists in residence scheme accessing a commercial photographic studios for 2 week periods.
