Don't Look Gallery shows work that critiques our relationship to technology, interrogating the abject point at which human and machine meet. Broadly interpreting 'new media' as art that is less susceptible to comodification, and more interdisciplinary than 'fine art' (and not just 'digital media'), Don't Look has strived to bring challenging conceptual, performative, multimodal-based art to the outer inner-west suburb of Dulwich Hill. Beginning this year will also be a fortnightly program of experimental performances, intended to provide a platform for edgy new sound and new media works that may still be in their formative stages.

BACKGROUND

Don’t Look has been running now for two and a half years. In this time we’ve put on over 40 exhibitions, showing over 80 artists, attempting a cracking pace of an exhibition every 2-3 weeks. This year, a newly renovated space will make create space for our new fortnightly performance series.
